"La luth enchanté" or "The Magic Lute" is a chamber music project that originated in the friendship between Anton Birula and Anna Kowalska on the one hand (Luteduo, based in The Netherlands) and Marion Fermé, the French flautist on the other. Their ensemble aims to bring out the graceful sound of the several recorders combined with the lutes. The richness of the parts proceeding from the various combinations between the recorders and the lutes, or even between the theorbo with the baroque guitar, each add in a surprising way to the range of the continuo playing. Supported by their international experience the musicians offer with joy and liveliness an interpretation which shows respect for the baroque aesthetics and proves a creative association.

Marion Fermé
was born in 1977. She completed the recorder course at the Paris Schola Cantorum. After completing her study of Russian and English at la Sorbonne and being awarded the Diploma of the Paris politicis Institute, she decided to devote herself to a musical career. She studied the recorder and early music under Peter van Heyghen at the Hague Royal Conservatoire, where she obtained the soloist diploma in 2003. She is carrying further musical studies on medieval repertoire under Pedro Memelsdorff and Pierre Hamon. Besides playing with Luteduo, Marion is the founding member of the Haagse Courante ensemble who is regularly invited to play in several European festivals such as "Festival d'Ambronay", as young talents, "Early Music Festival in Utrecht" in Fringe, "Printemps baroque du Sablon in Brussel"s, "Festival d'orgue du Jura", "Flötenhof" in Germany, "Festival Musica Antiga" in Barcelona. She is also a member of the Renaissance T'Andernaken flute trio, who won a special Prize at the Brugge International Ensemble competition in 2003.
