Daniel Zorzano-viola da gamba Originaly from Mexico City, studied viola da gamba and violone at the Koninklijk Conservatorium, (Royal Conservatory,The Hague-The Netherlands) with Wieland Kuijken, Margaret Urqhart and Philippe Pierlot and at Conservatoire National Supérieur deMusique et Danse (Lyon) with Marianne Muller holding a Master Degree. He has performed as a soloist and instrumentalist in Europe and Mexico with different ensembles, such as: ELYMA (Gabriel Garrido), L’Arpeggiata (Christina Pluhar), La Fenice (Jean Tubery), La Sphera Armoniosa (Mike Fentross), Capella Confluentes (Jörn Andresen), CapellaMeditarranea (Leonardo Garcia Alarcon), etc. and as a specialist he has been invited to give master clases and conferences on baroque music. Recently he participated in the complete recording Monteverdi’s masterwork “Selva morale etspirituale” for Ambronay’s label with the ensemble Elyma and “Rappresentatione di Anima, et di Corpo” from Emilio Cavalieri with ensemble L’Arpegiatta. Repertoire includes works for Viola da Gamba and Basso Contino as well as duo compositions for Baroque Guitar and Theorbo.
